Start eyeing-up the stock price movements of Seattle-based Loudeye Corp. [LOUD]. Loudeye is a digital music provider that boasts a very impressive array of products, services, and qualities, including: being the industry's foremost provider of digital files; having the world's largest commercial music archive in .WAV format (over 4.6 million songs); having the most scalable and advanced media operations facility in the industry; having the industry's leading private labeled digital music solutions; having a dominant digital music samples service ( to the tune of one billion music samples online last year ); a piracy protection service involved in protecting over 75,000 digital entertainment titles (far more than anyone else) and at 99% effectiveness; and, boasting the first wireless digital music services (which were provided to AT&T Wireless [T] and Nokia [NOK]). In Q4 2004, Loudeye announced that it will be providing digital media and content management services to the Music Choice music network. Earlier this year, it announced that its OD2 services have launched a customized digital music store for Migros Electronics, one of Switzerland's largest retailers.

Earlier this year, the company appointed Michael A. Brochu as president and CEO. Brochu has formerly acted as president and COO of Sierra On-Line Inc., and during that tenure he led Sierra's better-than-300% growth in revenues which culminated in the sale of Sierra On-Line to CUC International for $1.1 billion in 1996. Brochu is convinced that Loudeye "has developed a unique position" in the "transformative shift affecting the global digital media" world that shall "help create value for retail partners, content owners, consumers, and our stockholders."

This former financial advisor is likewise convinced. The company's products and services are strong, and these things reflect a clear focus that doesn't have the company jam spread too thin. It is in one of the right industries at the right time. Now it is captained by an experienced and proven profitability-maker in that industry. The free cash flow reported by the company has been starting to look a little sexier in recent times, too.

For investors who like tech stocks and are not adverse to some wild price fluctuations and some calculated risk while seeking long(er)-term aggressive growth, this is a stock to buy now. I can loudly foresee the digital "pop" coming for Loudeye.

Turning from the digital to the physical...what's that saying about the value of real estate? It comes down to location, location, location. Delta Petroleum [DPTR] is an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company based in Denver, CO that has holdings in a lot of the potentially valuable real estate. Its claim-stakes are found in the Wind River, the Piceance, the Denver-Julesburg, the Louisiana, and the South Texas Basins. Also significant are its offshore holdings in California near Santa Barbara and its half-interest and operations in approximately 200,000 acres of the Columbia River Basin, prospectively valuable areas as sources of fresh oil reserves. In addition to its significant land holdings, Delta spent the last couple of years, from 2002 to now, acquiring the oil and gas assets of Castle Energy and Alpine Resources.

Within the last year to two years, Delta has vastly increased its total capital expenditures (in fact, from Q2 of 2003 through Q2 of 2004, capital expenditures increased more than tenfold). While this sharp spike in "speculative" cash layout might reasonably throw up red flags to many potential investors, this writer in particular does not think that this activity need be as much cause for concern as for portfolio consideration. To this former financial advisor's eyes, these expansion activities are likely a sign of great growth and profitability to come. For one thing, Delta's net tangible asset amounts are way, way up in that same time. For another thing, the amount of shares of stock sold by the company in that time sailed beyond the empyrean compared to what it had been, while the company's borrowings weren't inordinately increased . The company is finding ways of generating capital flow, and its officers and management are very confident about the effort- -they own 43% of the company's stock at the time this story is written. Its resources and its strategic positions for future exploration and development of oil reserves make it look like it could be long-term rockin'-and-rollin', especially since long-term there is little hope of oil prices falling back to and remaining at what they once were in the glory days.

But here is perhaps the most salient point for investment consideration: Alternative energy is getting serious interest and backing from investors and potential developers at long last. Analysts have estimated that already by 2013, the alternative energy sector will have risen from its present $13 billion business to being a $92 billion business. Delta's stakes in natural gas should allow it to be in position to make the transition from the dinosaur economy of fossil fuel dependence to the New Economy of lush, green alternative (to oil, that is) energy givers without it- -or its shareholders- - suffering future shock (natural gas futures are now, overall, double their value of the late 1990s).

Ramp to the ferry by smith

Denver is full of surprises, but watching freestyle skiers launch from high above and fly through the air in front of city hall is definitely a new one. Crowds inside and outside the admission area were having a great time watching the action and getting into the experience, with a high-energy concert to follow. Tomorrow, snowboarders will take the ramp and shred powder and air into the night. It really is a very strange sight for downtown!

By daytime, the structure is unusual but awkward, standing in the middle of the city where flowers and statues are the norm. According to the Metro Denver Sports Commission's website, the ramp is 101 feet high, 300 feet long and 80 feet wide. It seems bigger. When the nighttime comes and the lights reflect brightly off the snow, the experience is transforming and the giant ramp is all there is.

Standing near the Denver Art Museum's plaza shared with the Denver Public Library, the skiers and officials are tiny dots up high, just as they would be on a natural mountain. This mountain was built just for the occasion, though, and around are all sorts of people hanging out and watching, listening to the energetic announcer and watching the jumbo screen relaying video of the event. Lights are bright on the slopes (still, "slopes" and "downtown" just don't go together!) and a video crew is apparently capturing the event for later broadcast when it won't seem quite as surreal.

Correction--when one sees the skiers flying spinning through the air, that's another mind-bending experience, also a bit surreal. Freestyle skiing is amazing, gravity-defying athletics, and the snowboarding tomorrow is likely to be just as much or even more so. One person asked, "how do they practice?" There doesn't seem any sane way to learn to break free and gyrate high above the snow like that.

Watching the crowds, the benefit of bringing the event downtown was clear-everybody gets to join in the fun. Even though the mountains are not far away, there were plenty of people downtown, families and young urban professionals and other city residents who rarely, if ever, head up into the Rockies got a taste of the thrill that even spectators get at the slopes. It's personal, and a natural addition to Denver culture. For those who do ski and are stuck in the city, it's a special treat as well.

While there's some controversy about using public parks for paid admission events, this one is well balanced between the "VIP" access with tickets and the ability to just sit around the periphery and enjoy some awesome skiing, then take the bus home and be ready for work the next day. Sharing the park and the experience seemed to be working out quite well.

Stock Market Crash 1929 NYSE by storiesofusa

It is apparent to anyone watching the stock market, the falling AIG stock price, the potential for the Lehman Barclays deal, and a possibly disastrous AIG bankruptcy, that consumers are afraid to lose what is left of their nest eggs.

In the wake of a tumbling Dow Jones, hushed whispers of a stock market crash and frantic activity at the New York Stock Exchange, Wall Street mavens are calling for the Fed to cut interest rates in a last ditch effort to overcome Bank of America stock prices -- and Merrill Lynch as well as Morgan Stanley stock price doubts -- with a shot in the economic arm.

Stock Market Analysis

Stock market analysts claim to know what ails a floundering Wall Street: the aftermath of the mortgage crisis. USA Today reports that the seemingly unprecedented drop in the stock market is due to the precarious fiscal empires of Lehman Bros, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Countrywide, and even Merrill Lynch finally toppling.

As the DOW took a 504 point nosedive, other companies are being sucked down the spiral as well. The Street pulls no punches as it details the downgrading of insurer AIG stock prices. Once known as AIG Valic, AIG stock prices join Con Edison, Eli Lilly, and even PG&E stocks; investors are eyeing the Dow Jones and worry about another stock market crash.

The British Are Coming, the British Are Coming!

The news is not all bad, however, since across the pond there are some signs that foreign investors are taking a closer look at America's floundering Wall Street. According to the Associated Press, London's Barclays PLC is making overtures to buy some of the assets Chapter 11 bound Lehman Brothers has for sale. Whether or not advantageous for Lehman, Barclays' interest might inject some much needed capital into the transaction.

As rumors of an AIG bankruptcy send not only its stock prices but also associated industry stocks -- such as the Merrill Lynch stock price and also Morgan Stanley stock price - onto a topsy turvy course, it bears remembering that the much feared New York Stock Exchange Black Monday is not a new occurrence.

A Brief History of Time

As a matter of fact, even recent history shows a cyclical appearance of Black Monday responses to late Friday company press releases and weekend world news. For example, the Black Monday Wall Street jitters that rocked the stock market yesterday occurred in the wake of Lehman Brothers' Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and also the news that Bank of America had acquired Merrill Lynch.

Take for another example January 21st, 2008. Even as there was no trading on Wall Street itself due to the federal Martin Luther King, Junior holiday observance, stock market movers and shakers were not idle and watched with apprehension the tumbles of India's and also Hong Kong's stock indices.

KPTM Fox 42 quotes the Associated Press account that points to the combination of international fiscal shenanigans and a serious doubt over the Bush Administration's economic stimulus package that led to an investor led run on Wall Street on the next trading day. A scant day later, BBC News reported of a stock market recovery in the wake of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve.

The BBC pointed out that even spiraling commodities markets quickly recovered and once again picked up appreciably.

2008 a 1987 in Disguise?

21 years prior to this occurrence, there was another Black Monday that sent the stock market reeling. During the onset of the holiday season on October 19th, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average went down by more than 22%. The Motley Fool put together a stellar account of the year 1987 and a snapshot of the stock market which, at that time, appeared to be plagued by fraud, and empty promises.

Sent over the edge by the 10-19 shelling of the Iranian oil platform located in the Persian Gulf, the Motley Fool concludes that it was not a single event, but instead a series of seemingly only tangentially related incidents that - much akin a slow fuse to a powder keg - finally set off the explosion.

Back to the future, today is not really that different from 21 years ago. A series of unfortunate events, speculation driven transactions, poor planning on the parts of consumers, corporate greed, and a failure to put down the governmental foot a lot sooner on haphazard corporate accountability have brought America's chickens home to roost (maybe this is what Jeremiah Wright was talking about?).

The worst thing you could do right now is place all of your nest eggs into one basket, while the best thing to do is to diversify your investment portfolio, keep a good chunk of cash in an FDIC insured high interest savings account, and then hold on for the ride. If your blood pressure permits, get in on the action and speculate, but you stand a good chance of losing your shirt.

Being underwater is the worst. Some bipeds may look to the ocean or the pool with longing and may be giddy once inside. But human beings are meant to walk and hunt and mate and live on land. So it goes for the term being underwater in your investing. If you find yourself in a position where you've bought into a stock and the stock has lost value and the shares you bought are now worth less than what you paid for them, you are underwater. You should know a few things especially for penny stock investing before you make any sudden moves with your positions.

How many shares are outstanding? If you are a penny stock investor in a company that's gotten a little share happy and just keeps issuing new shares, this could be the reason that you're underwater. Dilution is a major cause for penny stocks to go belly up. However your penny stock could also just be going through normal fluctuations of stocks. Before you double down or anything like that, make sure you know when the last share issuance was, for how many shares it was, and if the retreat in value is because of a flood of shares.

Has Your CEO Been Spending? If the rumor around the chat mill is that your CEO is spending big bucks on planes and hotels, this could be bad for your bottom line. Don't trust the heathens who live in the chat rooms. Call investor relations and get the straight skinny. They should be able to tell you where the CEO went and why. If they can't you may be underwater without a breath left. However if they are inking international deals, planning some big launch or something else, the profit wheel could be turning sooner than you know.

Shift in Plans: Many times retracements are from a shift in plans. The market doesn't like uncertainty. But you're smarter than the market anyway. If this shift in plan looks to be a winner for your flagging penny stock investment, you may wish to adjust your position or even double down if you're feeling lucky. A shift in plans in your underwater penny stock positions could be just the move to get you the air you've been looking for.

Due to the volatility of penny stock investing you never know if your positions will ever regain value. You may end up all the way down at zero with no money in your individual positions. However for some savvy penny stock investors, being underwater in your penny stock positions is nothing more than an opportunity. Before you go throwing darts into the wind though you should know a few things about the stock you're invested in and the relative value to your shares or you could be the one who winds up holding the bag.

Appliance Repair For Every Single Room In The House Internet Promoting For Appliance Repair Specialists

Appliance Repair in ROUND ROCK, TX by appliancehub

Appliances can get damaged in a number or ways. Heavy objects can fall on the surface of the appliance or a sharp edge can scratch or chip the surface of the appliance. A ding or scratch won't effect the performance of an appliance but it will affect the appearance of the appliance. You can easily buy some touch up paint to fix the surface of a damaged appliance. White is the easiest to fix but you can buy any color you need to fix the scratch or scuff. You can buy the patching paint at a hardware store.

After you get the paint you need to repair the surface of the appliance take some time to wash the surface to be painted. You can use a kitchen scrub pad and some detergent to wash the affected area. Make sure to rinse it well and dry it before you apply the paint.

If the scratch is small then touch it up with a very small amount of paint. It will look better and stay good looking longer then if you apply a large glob of paint onto the surface.

If the area to be repaired is a large area then you may need to get a 15-ounce can of spray paint to fix the scratch or scuff. Get paint that matches the color of your appliance.

First take sand paper that is 600 grit and sand the area to be painted. After you sand the area take a damp cloth and wipe the surface that you sanded. Then let the surface dry.

Shake the can of paint according to the directions on the can and spray the entire area very lightly. Then let the area dry well. After the paint is dry you should apply a second coat of paint to the area. You may have to apply several coats of paint until you get the damaged area covered entirely. Don't put on a heavy coat of the paint or you will develop drips and streaks on the surface of the appliance. If you do develop drips you can sand the area smooth and wipe it with a damp cloth. Once the area has dried you can apply a light coat of paint on the area.

When painting a metal surface it can be somewhat challenging to keep the paint from dripping and smearing. It is most important to apply thin coats of paint to prevent drips form developing.
